Install Breach on Android
Download the free Android installer and begin with a request or a prayer.
The walkthroughs were recorded in Android 0.22. Original written steps retain their version notes, and current-version guidance appears first where controls have changed. Still images remain labeled with their actual Android 0.26.5 capture version.
Current Android 0.27.8 steps
Update your existing direct installation.
Use the official Android download on nk.tools/breach and install over Breach. Do not uninstall first: uninstalling can remove local journals and settings.
Review an update before downloading or installing.
The direct Android edition checks when you open or return to Breach online, reconnect, and about every six hours while open. You can also open Settings → About → Check for updates. An automatic check does not install anything: review the offered version, download it, then choose Install update and follow Android’s confirmation. Finish an active prayer and let changes save before installing. Store editions receive updates through their store.
Reopen Breach after installation.
Android may return you to the previous app when installation finishes. Open Breach yourself if needed. Check the version in About, and review the phone’s unknown-app installation permission when you are done.
The direct APK is for Android. iPhone remains coming soon; internal IPA and AAB files are not public installers.
New encrypted identity backups include supported native social records, but not private journals or phone settings. Older files contain only the identity key. Keep your existing installation when updating.
Earlier guide steps and version notes
Use the official download.
Open nk.tools/breach on your Android phone and choose Download for Android. The APK is the direct installer; you do not need an account or a purchase.
Allow this installation.
Open the downloaded APK. Android may ask you to allow installation from the browser or Files app you used. Follow the phone’s prompt, install Breach, and turn that installation permission off again if desired.
Open Breach.
Requests is the home screen. Choose Request to share a need, Pray to begin praying, or Victory to give thanks. Microphone, camera, contacts, and notifications are requested only for the features that need them.
Keep your identity.
When updating, install over your existing Breach app. Removing the app can remove local journals and settings. You can export a password-encrypted Nostr identity under You; it is not a full journal backup.
