Make Breach comfortable, find support, and choose what to share for troubleshooting.
The walkthroughs were recorded in Android 0.22. Original written steps retain their version notes, and current-version guidance appears first where controls have changed. Still images remain labeled with their actual Android 0.26.5 capture version.

Complete your profile when you are ready.
The optional setup offers a name or nickname, email verification, a usual prayer region, and an encrypted identity backup. Continue later, Verify later, and Choose location later let you skip those steps. Continue setup returns to them. Breach already created your identity on the phone; email and a public name are not required to pray.
Choose a comfortable appearance.
Open Settings → Appearance for Theme, Font, and Prayer text size. Paper and Atkinson Hyperlegible are the defaults; an existing saved appearance stays selected. Choose Dark, Warm dark, E-ink, or Follow device if you prefer. Your own fonts → Import font adds a supported font file on this phone. Reset appearance changes the display settings, not your prayers.
Choose nearby discovery and hosting separately.
In Settings → Nearby relays, Find nearby relays automatically looks for opted-in Breach phones over Bluetooth. Let this phone act as a relay allows this phone to help carry shared posts and encrypted deliveries. Discovery does not turn on hosting. On a fresh installation, discovery is selected and hosting is off; existing nearby-sharing choices are preserved during updates.
Respect phone and connection limits.
Nearby connections still need your network choice, community acceptance, and phone permissions. Bluetooth range, available peers, and background restrictions affect delivery. This does not find arbitrary phones across the internet or make a nearby phone a trusted email verifier.
Save an encrypted identity backup.
Open You → Profile → Identity backup → Back up identity. Choose and repeat a password of at least 12 characters, then choose Save backup. The file includes your identity, contacts, email associations, pending contacts, and authorized shared prayer history. Private journals, prayer lists, appearance choices, imported fonts, and other phone settings are not included. Keep the file safe and the password separately.
Review a backup before restoring.
Choose Restore identity, select the file, enter its password, and review the identity and included data before confirming. Older files contain only the identity key. Unfinished email verification still needs the service or phone selected for that association; restoring a backup does not change its verifier. A backup is not a full phone or journal backup.
Open You → Profile.
Choose Add photo or Change photo, select a picture, and review your name and About text. Choose Remove photo to return to initials, then Save.
Choose whether to share publicly.
Saving keeps the profile on this phone unless you explicitly select Share profile publicly. Choosing a photo alone never publishes it. The guided setup similarly leaves Share my name publicly unchecked. Naming yourself does not change earlier prayers’ audiences. Public profiles can be read and copied by others.
Recognize photos and initials.
A small photo or two-letter initials appear beside the appropriate identity. John Smith becomes JS; a single name such as John becomes JO. A separate anonymous identity does not inherit your personal photo or name.
The phone crops and converts a selected photo to a small PNG without the original photo metadata. The image travels inside the shared profile; viewers do not fetch a remote avatar URL.
Removing a photo locally does not retrieve public copies already shared. Older app versions may need an update to read a profile containing a photo.

Make prayer your own.
Prayer controls the optional Berean Standard Bible popup. Headlines controls keywords and broader report reading. Connections contains independent relays, nearby forwarding, and optional audio connection settings.
Find guidance.
Support links to these how-tos and the company support portal. No diagnostic file is sent automatically.
Review local logs.
