Pass on the small app and your library

Install the reader first, then share your Bibles and commentaries through an encrypted connection.

Before you start: Compatible Lamplighter copies with library sharing. Android Pass it on prepares the small reader installer and remembers your resource selection. The browser’s Save on this device setup is separate.

Step by step

  1. Open Pass it on.

    Unlock the reader and open Pass it on from Settings. Every Bible available in this installed copy is selected by default. Commentary and the original-language resource groups are also initially selected.

  2. Keep all Bibles or choose a smaller library.

    All installed Bibles and study resources are selected initially. If the receiving phone has limited space, clear the editions or resources it does not need and keep at least one Bible selected. Neither BSB nor KJV is required.

  3. Prepare and send the small app.

    Choose Prepare installation and review the installer size and library selection. For a new Android phone, use Send app by Bluetooth, install the received APK, then scan Show opening code inside the installed app. For an existing installation, follow the secure Wi-Fi or Bluetooth update steps in the Android guide. The APK carries the reader; the selected library follows separately.

  4. Connect the readers and verify each other.

    On the sender, choose Send selected library. On a new receiver’s Receive your library screen, choose Connect and receive. Use Bluetooth or pair on the same Wi-Fi or hotspot, compare the contact identities, and add each other as verified contacts. Wi-Fi is best for whole Bibles.

  5. Offer the selected resources.

    Choose the recipient contact, then Share library. Your Pass it on selection is already checked. Choose Send selected offers. The receiver accepts each offered resource before it is verified and saved in encrypted storage. An identical resource already installed is reused.

  6. Check completion and offline reading.

    Wait for each selected resource to show verified and saved, then open a received edition offline. On a new receiver, Open reader becomes available after its first Bible is verified. If you hide or leave an app, reconnect and choose Resume on both readers. Delete an APK left in Downloads or Files after installation; keep the installed app and its saved data when updating.
